Pink: A New Neutral

Pink: A New Neutral

When Susi set out to build Williams Athletic Club, she made one thing very clear from the beginning: it would never be just another "pink golf brand."

At the time, pink had become shorthand for a certain kind of women’s sportswear. Predictable, overdone, and often designed through a very obvious lens of “pink it and skrink it.” It felt disconnected from the kind of wardrobe she actually wanted to wear, one rooted in restraint, versatility, and pieces that felt elevated beyond the course.

Then came Spring/Summer ’26.

Never say never.

The pink that entered this collection is not the pink we were trying to avoid. This version feels softer, more grounded. Less like a statement color and more like something you instinctively want to live in. A washed, muted pink that behaves more like a neutral than a novelty.

Fashion right now is responding to two very different emotional needs at once.

One side leans toward energy. High-frequency color that lifts mood and confidence. Chartreuse, citron, brighter greens, shades that feel optimistic rather than loud. Color as momentum.

The other side leans toward softness. Pastels, nostalgia, calm. Colors that create ease rather than attention.

Both feel relevant right now, which is why we designed for both.

Our version of pink came from that softer side of the spectrum. Not sugary. Not precious. Something cleaner, more atmospheric, and surprisingly versatile.

The more we worked with it, the more it started behaving like a neutral.

It softens navy. Sharpens white. Works naturally with olive, cream, chocolate, and technical fabrics. It adds warmth without overpowering the rest of the wardrobe.

That became the interesting part to us, as women are dressing differently now. Less for one specific occasion, more for their full day. Golf, travel, coffee after the round, errands in between, dinner later that evening. The lines between performance wear and everyday dressing continue to blur.

And color plays a role in that shift too.

Sometimes confidence comes from energy. Other days it comes from ease. This season, pink became part of that conversation for us. Not as a trend piece. Not as a cliché. But as a new neutral.
